Service Description

The Guelaguetza festival's origins date back to pre-Hispanic times, blending indigenous and colonial influences. Through four weekly sessions of one hour each, practice your Spanish language skills and learn why the Guelaguetza is the Oaxacan festival with more recognition at the national and international levels. Through rituals and legends, dances and costumes, fairs, festivals and festivities, you will have the opportunity to understand all the magic that is lived today during July, the month of the Guelaguetza, in beautiful Oaxaca. The course consists of four one-hour sessions scheduled once a week. Week 1 - The Guelaguetza in the Pre-Hispanic Era Week 2 - The Guelaguetza in Colonial Times Week 3 - The Guelaguetza in Contemporary Times Week 4 - The Guelaguetza in modern times 3 students maximum per class. Practice Spanish through a "tertulia" which at ICO is a topic-focused conversation moderated by one of our experienced professors who will give you real-time personalized feedback.

Cancellation Policy

Private classes can be canceled or rescheduled 24 hours before the class. Group classes or tertulias can be canceled up to 3 days before the first class.
