Service Description

Our new Tertulia course on "Los Verbos Muy Mexicanos" is designed to help you take your Spanish to the next level. The course is perfect for students who are learning Spanish as a second language and have either an upper-intermediate or advanced level of Spanish (B2 to C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). During the six-week course, you'll learn Spanish verbs that are unique to Mexican Spanish, including their metaphorical and idiomatic use. In addition, professor Patricia Castellanos will guide you and the other two classmates in weekly one-hour tertulias that will be engaging and interactive. Here are the six topics that we will cover in the course: Week 1: El verbo "echar" Week 2: Verbos de lengua y de efecto hacia algo o alguien. Week 3: Verbos para festejar y de actitud Week 4: Verbos conectados a la comida y a la personalidad Week 5: Verbos que afectan a alguien Week 6: El verbo "chingar" con su variante como sustantivo By the end of the course, you'll have expanded your Spanish vocabulary and learned how to use and apply unique Mexican Spanish verbs in conversation. You'll also have a deeper understanding of these verbs' metaphorical and idiomatic use, which will help you communicate more effectively in Mexico and with Mexican speakers.
