Course Description This course is designed to help you improve your Spanish language skills while learning about the beautiful birds of Capulálpan de Méndez, a small town in the Sierra Norte mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico. In this course, you will learn about four different birds: the Cenzontle, the Jilguero, the Cardenal, and the Clarín. You will learn about their appearance, habitat, songs, and cultural significance. You will also have the opportunity to practice your Spanish conversation skills by discussing these birds with your classmates. This course is perfect for students learning Spanish as a second language and has an upper-beginner or lower-intermediate level of Spanish (A2 to B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Course Objectives By the end of this course, you will be able to: Identify and name the four birds of Capulálpan de Méndez Describe the appearance, habitat, and songs of these birds Discuss the cultural significance of these birds in Spanish Improve your Spanish conversation skills Course Content This course will cover the following topics: Week 1: The Cenzontle Week 2: The Jilguero Week 3: The Cardenal Week 4: The clarín This course will meet for four weeks on Fridays from 5:00 - 6:00 PM.
