This is the Guelaguetza — Oaxaca's most celebrated festival and one of Mexico's most iconic cultural events, recognized far beyond the country's borders. In this four-session tertulia course, you won't just read about the Guelaguetza — you'll discuss it, debate it, and explore it through real Spanish conversation. Each session takes you through a different chapter of the festival's story, from its ancient pre-Hispanic roots to its vibrant present, unpacking the rituals, legends, dances, costumes, and deep community spirit that make July in Oaxaca truly unforgettable.
